Skaramangas Shipyards, one of the most important shipbuilding centers in the Mediterranean, proudly announces its official inclusion as an Incentive Provider in the internationally recognized Green Award program, reaffirming the company’s commitment to a more sustainable, technologically advanced, and environmentally responsible maritime future.
The induction ceremony for the company into the international Green Award program took place at the premises of Skaramangas Shipyards with great success, in the presence of notable representatives from the broader maritime community, including executives of shipping companies, certification organizations, quality bodies, and industry professionals who actively participated in discussions on green technologies and improving the environmental performance of the global fleet.
The Green Award Foundation Honored the Inclusion of Skaramangas Shipyards
The ceremony was attended by distinguished figures from the Green Award Foundation:
• Capt. Dimitrios Matthaiou — Chairman of the Green Award Foundation
With extensive international experience in the maritime sector, particularly in maritime safety, quality, and environmental compliance, Capt. Matthaiou highlighted the strategic role shipyards play—through their expertise and investment in new “clean” technologies—in enhancing a vessel’s lifecycle. He emphasized that the participation of Skaramangas Shipyards in the ecosystem “significantly elevates the services provided to certified vessels and strengthens the global sustainability of the Green Award.”
