A very interesting interview with Mr. Simone Trevale Sales Manager of Lupi SrL follows:
NAFS: With the consequences from the coronavirus still fresh, do you think that China is a very important key player to the shipping industry? Are you looking forward to deepening your cooperation with Chinese shipping market?
S.T.: Yes, China is a key player in the shipping world due to highest number of newbuildings and a large domes- tic and international fleet of ships. Not least a large amount of manufactured goods produced there for export. We will continue to support the shipowners there and when vessels arrive in Italian waters.
NAFS: Which are these areas that LUPI is aiming to contribute and provide unique benefits to its customers’ business? Do you believe that your capabilities and facilities are perfectly suited to your targets?
S.T.: LUPI always aims to provide unique benefits to our customers’ business. Let us never forget that LUPI has more than 100 years of history and we have the skills and facilities to meet our customers’ goals. Earning their trust over these years has been a solid foundation for us.
NAFS: Do you believe that LUPI’s personnel have the perfect combination of experience and skills needed to drive your company’s performance and meet your targets?
S.T.:Yes, the staff have been working for years with LUPI and the merger that took place on 01 July 2019 with MARINEPARTS has brought further experience and expertise to our offices. The maintenance staff has just completed an important three-week refresher course in Japan at the MITSUBISHI headquarters (we have been their agents in Italy/Monte Carlo and Switzerland for over 40 years). So we are able to attend to onboard service or workshop repairs on any model of MKK separator.
NAFS: As digitalisation and decarbonisation continue to drive change in the industry do you have business plans with a clear eye on these two megatrends?
S.T.: We always follow these changes in the sector very closely, even if at the moment everything is slowing down due to the global situation due to the Coronavirus
NAFS: Recently LUPI was appointed as Authorized Service Agent for Mitsubishi Oil Purifiers. How important is this certification for you?
S.T.: We are proud to be part of the Mitsubishi international network. This collaboration is very important to us and our relationship with all the MKK representatives is strong and constructive. Let’s not forget that LUPI is also an agent in Italy for NANIWA pumps.
NAFS: Please tell us α few words about your cooperation with Euploia Drydocks and Services?
S.T.: Using a few words would not render the merit that EUPLOIA has in the relationship with LUPI. We are a great team that has one goal, to support the Greek marine industry with a broad scope of products and services.
NAFS: Please give us a full and very analytic company profile of your company.
S.T.: We a team of 11 in the Genova office supported globally by agents in all key countries. We take care of the day-to-day commercial activities and have personnel working in production, warehouse and maintenance. LUPI has the possibility to ship orders from Genoa (Italy) or Singapore according to the customer’s needs.
