Why to choose CMA? What is the competitive advantage of CMA which all these years makes its clients feel happy and confident?
We invest in quality and deep research in order to understand our customer’s mindset and needs. Adding to the above, we have the experience to offer complete solutions to our clients. CMA D.ARGOUDELIS & CO S.A. is a company which has accomplished a total business maturation and has a steady ground.
If you want to be a leader among these companies, you have to step beyond a quality product or an exceptional service. Only a handful of companies are adequately offering high such quality services. In 2021, you must know what customers want and not just assume.
Our foundation of knowledge and expertise in the Marine and Industrial market, continuously feeds the confidence of our clients. Their long- term dedication to our company, and the increasing growth through difficult years, is the proof of our success.
Your strong market standing and continuous growth in the shipping industry, despite the difficulties, highlights your company quality in all levels. In what ways does your company intend to further consolidate its position in the shipping industry and what weapons will use in this direction?
Marine Technology is setting the pace for every business in the field, but technology alone, is just a part of the solution. You have to capture the market needs, prioritize them, and proceed with an implementation that is sustainable for your client at a proper timing.
CMA D.ARGOUDELIS & CO S.A. embraces the market’s pulse and builds strong foundation bonds with customers and of course, with suppliers through our long partnerships. Together we form a solid structure that offers reliability, trust, quality and optimum performance at every level.
Shipping industry comes together with high demands, so it’s almost obligatory not only to comply, but to exceed these demands and develop further thus building mutually beneficial constructive business relationships.
You stated that “In order to be a leader in the market, you have to offer the best services to the customer”. How important is the role of the human factor? Could you please tell us few words about your personnel and how important it is for you to achieve your aims?
It’s true that human factors affect the efficiency, effectiveness and safety of every workplace. It’ s critical to examine continuously your work processes, to chart out your internal chain system and discover what needs to be optimized or not.
Our company’s heart is beating due to this system and this is the core of our success. Our personnel are the definition of the team, by promoting, maximizing and sharing trust, knowledge and ideas to their coworkers. Our managers inspire daily the team and as a result, they deliver an absolute professional service to the client. Bringing people together to work and grow as a unit, is what we learn and do at training. We are proud to have in our team, employees since our foundation, giving and tutoring the new ones.
Every member, every employee, from top level to bottom, feels that belongs not just to a company, but to team that acts like family. That is the most important element, because we care about our people, we invest in them and we are motivated by them. That’ s why we get back the best of our people, as they want to to support and embrace our mutual goals, for a healthy business growth. They truly are our brand ambassadors!
And as writer, salesman and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar said “You don’t build a business – you build people – and then people build the business.”
You stated that “the future in the marine and industrial market is the path that lead us to evolution”. How important is it to offer your ser- vices in the shipping industry? Do you feel that the shipping industry inspires your business?
Working in shipping industry is really a challenge and great inspiration for everyone involved. It is a significant contributor for every economy, providing millions of jobs and chances to the businesses to grow and invest.
We are part of the technology evolution, so we need to adapt to the needs of this commercial marketplace and advance with the global trends of the changes followed.
Our services are not only important to offer, but moreover are vital. Every year we have a significant growth of new shipping companies across the globe. We offer worldwide coverage and technical support for their needs.
The strong commitment of Greek owners to the global shipping markets looks solid, as they remain the dominant force after so many years. We are really proud to be members of that chain and honored to be chosen by the majority of that market.
2020 was a challenging year for the planet and, of course, for the ship- ping industry due to pandemic. How COVID- 19 affected your company and how did you react to all this to secure the improvement in your activities?
In just a few months, COVID-19 outbreak has turned upside down nearly all kinds of economic activities and everyday interactions between people, businesses, and countries, especially in the maritime community which has particularly suffered from the pandemic. Each country was isolated and “forced” to provide local solutions to their problems.
A common problem occurred to companies like us, is the transportation of our specialized technical personnel to the ports abroad. The virus threat in addition to the strict requirements and quarantine situations, was an obstacle for the jobs to be completed.
Obeying to strict health protocol, with exceptional organization paths, and keeping “in touch” with our clients, we managed to overcome the majority of the problems we faced until a more neutral level has come. Hopefully, all these ends soon and the world gets its (business) life back.
The decarbonization of shipping is underway. In this time of growing pressure to decarbonize, are you among those who believe that the questions are more than the answers on the road to zero emissions?
Cleaner and greener fuels are going to be implemented soon at every industry, due to the huge impact of carbon. Of course, there is a huge challenge what formula the owners will use, as it seems difficult at this time to employ one and use it without any significant losses.
We believe that, in order to achieve the zero emissions goal, every party involved should help at this direction by minimizing the consequences and providing adequate and rigid solutions.
Shipowners are facing demanding environmental regulations. Are you ready to support your shipowner clients in their attempt to manage their fleet compliance and in what ways?
It’s our daily job to follow new environmental regulations and analyze them. Our experience in the market, is giving us the leverage not only to predict what new regulations will come, but also to propose innovative solutions in the near future.
We comply by supporting with alternatives, using our expertise to each case, and by investing to both internal plus external quality measures, at every level our clients need to be taken.
The automation a few years ago was at its early era in Greek marine market and there were a few who really could deliver excellent services to the customers. How much have things changed in the competition since then, and how difficult is it for a marine supplier to become a Key player in that field?
Decades have passed since the first companies in automation took
a small step into this really huge industry. Indeed, what distinguished these companies in the process, was at first the excellent services due to the high technical background of their owners.
CMA D.ARGOUDELIS & CO is proud to be among these companies, proud that accomplished to be a leading company in marine business workplace and proud to be a milestone of the marine automation history in Greece.
For many years our employees have a quote: “CMA except from our job, is a school”. And this is a fact as many competitors were “born” from our company and took their path, either making their own business or being members of a shipping company and providing excellent services. We believe in our vision and we take actions, not just words. We motivate our people and we believe in their skills and abilities. Our team is certain that its future will be one of achievement, personal pride and recognition for its work. That’s how you succeed and become a key player in the market!
