NeptuneZero has been named among the Thetius Top 150 for 2026. Selected from more than 5,400 organisations assessed worldwide, NeptuneZero is one of only 50 startups and scaleups recognised in this year’s report for their contribution to maritime innovation.
The 2026 edition was launched at SMM Hamburg. Now in its fifth year, the Thetius Top 150 recognises organisations advancing technology across the maritime industry. Selection combines data from the Thetius IQ intelligence platform with analyst review, assessing evidence of innovation over the preceding 12 months, including new technologies, substantive platform improvements, investment and partnerships.
In its profile of NeptuneZero, Thetius highlights the company’s automated data collection and validation system and its Automated Noon Report (ANR), which replaces manual reporting with high-frequency sensor data. The report also notes NeptuneZero’s memberships of INTERCARGO and BIMCO, and the seed investment secured from Corallia Ventures to accelerate development of its fleet performance platform.
More than noon reports
While the ANR is the most visible product, it is one output of a much broader system. NeptuneZero operates the most flexible Marine Data Collection System available today: onboard hardware connects directly to engines, flow meters, alarm and monitoring systems and navigation equipment, collecting per-minute data over OPC UA, Modbus and NMEA, validating it on the edge and streaming it to the cloud. On top of this foundation the company delivers:
- Automated Noon Report (ANR) – noon, arrival and departure reports generated from measured data and delivered to the office automatically. The crew reviews and signs; they no longer type.
- AI-driven data validation and ROB reconciliation – machine-learning models cross-check flow meters, tank soundings and bunker deliveries continuously, flagging ROB discrepancies, sensor drift and implausible readings before they reach a CII calculation, a charterer or a claim.
- Vessel performance analytics – speed-power and consumption baselines, SFOC tracking and hull and propeller fouling detection so managers know when to clean, when to slow down and when to re-negotiate warranties, in line with ISO 19030.
- Charter party compliance – voyage performance evaluated against CP terms with good-weather filtering, giving owners and charterers a shared, data-backed position and cutting time spent on performance disputes.
- Condition-based monitoring – vibration and process data from auxiliary machinery turned into early warnings for compressors, purifiers, pumps and motors, currently in pilot with leading ship managers.
- Emissions and compliance – EU MRV, IMO DCS, CII and FuelEU data produced from the same verified source, ready for verifiers with no re-keying.
The platform is hardware-agnostic and works with existing onboard equipment, so a vessel can be brought online in a single port call without dry-docking or retrofit.
